Shinrin-yoku: The Simplicity of ‘Forest Bathing’
This Japanese practice of PREVENTIVE health is all about the significance of understanding how the human body responds to the natural world.
Sound Bath Practitioner Training
In recent years, the ancient art of sound healing has witnessed a modern renaissance, with a rising popularity of sound baths in wellness circles, yoga studios, and meditation retreats. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that uses various instruments like gongs, singing bowls, chimes, and voice to promote relaxation and healing.
Spiritual Journey
The most significant change I have noticed, is the peace I feel with my "self". I feel I can handle what challenges come my way with a much better tool kit. I feel grounded and expansive at the same time. I feel my spirituality as much larger part of who l am, it is the foundation upon which I am following my dreams, and which holds me in a space of love. It is something I nurture regularly, and it gives back in the most amazing ways.
Merging Your Awareness
If you’ve been keeping up with our blogs, you’ve already begun to master breath and gravity in the last two installments. In this installment of the Green Heiress Retreats blog, we will combine the practices and skills we cultivated in blogs one and two: Breath and Gravity. By bringing these foundational elements together, we will delve deeper into the power of a conscious, perceptive and grounded mind.
Follow along, here.
The Gravity of the Situation
In our last blog, we explored the practice of mindful breathing as the first of two key parts to achieve a grounded mind. The second part is gravity, presented as a universal constant in our reality. But what if it was not constant?
In a purely physical and literal sense, thoughts are unaffected by gravity. This is another clue about what it means to have a “grounded mind.” A grounded mind thinks and expresses when it needs to, but does neither excessively.
For example, have you ever tried to meditate or ocus on a specific task, but are flooded by a series of unrelated, distracting thoughts? This completely natural experience is an example of your mind being “ungrounded.” Therefore, by physically engaging with the experience of stability or consistency, it will become easier to achieve those sensations mentally, as well. Therefore achieving a grounded mind.
Hello, Breath
Green Heiress Retreats will help you explore new modalities to connect with yourself, and others, on a deeper level. To open yourself to a transformative, healing experience, it is important to enter with a “grounded mind.”
Without using excessive terminology, just know that a “grounded mind” is one that is stable, consistent, and both receptive as well as responsive, much like a foundation of a house or the root structure of a strong and weather-tested tree. Cultivating a grounded mind can lead to a more grounded body, which carries a number of benefits.
There are two main parts to cultivating a grounded mind, both of which every individual possesses and experiences: Breath and Gravity.
